Today Mr. Carlo Ibba has been appointed as President of Cagliari Airport's board of directors. Mr. Gavino Pinna (Vice President) and Ms. Francesca Medda are the other two members of the board. At the general meeting of August 12th 2015 the company’s shareholders appointed the new board, which will serve until the approval of the 2015 financial statements.
ENAC, the Italian Civil Aviation Authority, in collaboration with all three Sardinian airports launches a campaign to help passengers through security checks and minimize waiting times during the last week end of August. Travellers will be advised on restricted and prohibited items at Cagliari, Olbia and Alghero airports before entering the security area.

The adventure for the Sardinia team at the Special Olympics World Summer Games 2015 in Los Angeles begins right here at Cagliari Airport. This morning the Sardinian athletes selected for the competition that will take place in the U.S. from 25th July till 2nd August, have been officially introduced to the press at the Business Centre. Italy’s 7-a-side’s Special Olympics team is currently in Cagliari for their final training camp before leaving for the LA World Summer Games.
Today Assaeroporti, the Italian Association of Airport Management Companies, has re-elected Mr. Fabrizio Palenzona as its Chairman. Mr. Vincenzo Mareddu, Chairman of Cagliari Airport Spa, is now member of the association’s Governing Council. The other two Sardinian airports, Alghero and Olbia, are also represented in the Governing Bodies of Assaeroporti. For the first time ever Sardinian airports have the chance to act as a team within the association in order to obtain visibility and profitable opportunities for the entire island.
