Cagliari Airport launches its Summer ‘16 flight schedule

Tour operators, travel agencies and hotel managers have gathered today at Cagliari Airport for the launch of the IATA Summer Season 2016. Starting from March 27th new flights and new carriers will connect South Sardinia with Italy and Europe, along with airlines operating on an annual basis and carriers resuming their traditional summer schedules to and from Cagliari.

Airport BOD member Cherchi elected Vice Chair of IATBR

Elisabetta Cherchi, member of Cagliari Airport Board of Directors, has been elected Vice Chair of the International Association for Travel Behaviour Research (IATBR), an international organization of scholars, researchers, practitioners, consultants, and public agency professionals dedicated to the advancement of travel behaviour research.


Ms. Cherchi is currently Associate Professor at the Department of Transport, Technical University of Denmark, Deputy Head of the Ph.D. School in DTU Transport, and Lecturer at the Department of Civil Engineering, Environment and Architecture, University of Cagliari (Italy).

Family assistance course at Cagliari Airport

The ‘Family Assistance course for airport operators’ organized by the Italian Flight Safety Committee and hosted by Cagliari Airport has been completed today. During the two-day seminar participants have been given useful tools on how to manage a crisis situation in the aviation field. Case studies and role-playing games proved particularly successful in illustrating tasks and duties in the event of a plane crash.
