Cagliari Airport welcomes new airlines and announces new routes for IATA Summer Season 2017. The flight network valid from March 26th till October 28th has been unveiled today to the press and then discussed with travel agents, T.O. and operators.
If compared with last year’s, 2016 traffic figures highlight a slight improvement in aircraft movements and a minimal decrease in terms of total passengers landing or taking off at Cagliari Airport. In terms of passengers, domestic routes (+2.47%) performed better than international ones (-13.45%). Last year Rome Fiumicino, Milan Linate and Bergamo were the most popular domestic destinations, while London Stansted, Bruxelles Charleroi and Paris Beauvais were the top international destinations.

Today state and military authorities, SOGAER Group representatives and airport operators attended the Advent Mass at Cagliari Airport. The Holy Mass was officiated by Father Gariglio in the airport chapel located at the Departures Level (1st floor). Passengers wishing to attend Sunday Mass are welcome every week at 9:30 am.
Starting April 22nd 2017 KLM will connect Cagliari and Amsterdam with its brand new flights. The Dutch carrier will operate scheduled services to and from the main Sardinian airport for the first time ever. Passengers will be offered 1 weekly connection (on Saturdays) until July 8th; from July 9th till September 3rd KLM will operate on a daily basis. As in the last years, Cagliari Airport managing company joins Assaeroporti in supporting Telethon awareness campaign aiming to raise funds for scientific research on rare genetic disorders. The campaign’s name in 2016 #presente appeals to donators, volunteers and companies willing to respond to Telethon’s call for solidarity and make the difference in fighting rare diseases. Ryanair has announced today its Summer 2017 schedule. From March 26th till October 28th 2017 the Irish low cost carrier will connect Cagliari with 20 cities in Italy and Europe. Tickets for Ryanair’s network including the new routes Barcelona Girona, Catania, London Luton, Madrid, Warsaw and Verona will be available from November 28th 2016.
